Schools will often bring me in for a retreat day. Parishes will also bring me in for a day of reflection.
Most often high schools bring me in for a class retreat. And Jr. Highs bring me in for Confirmation retreats. These retreat experiences vary in length from a couple of hours to a couple of days. I work with the host organization to determine the theme of the retreat. Common themes include: Finding God in all things; faith; peace; forgiveness; community; gifts of the Holy Spirit; and leadership.
The retreats consist of large group focus sessions utilizing storytelling, juggling analogies, scripture, and prayer, mixed with small group discussions and activities, and individual reflection time.

"Tom Sparough has been a lead presenter for our freshman retreats for the past 8 years. With his unique abilities, wit and wisdom, he connects with our students in a way no one else can, making the Gospel message come alive for them."

A valuable option for the retreats days is to also include a musician to help lead the retreat. I often work with Ed Gutfreund (above), or Bobby Fisher (left). Either of these musicians can add a great deal to any retreat with their music, spirit and insights into life.
